About Us
As a licensed, non-profit co-operative, Lakeside is one of the oldest childcare facilities in the Beach. It was established in 1974, under the name of Ward 9 Co-operative Playschool, by a group of Beach-area families and operated in leased facilities at St. Aidan's Church for all but the first few months of its existence.
In November 2020, Lakeside reopened only a short stroll away: in a newly renovated space at Queen St. E. and Beech Ave.
Our co-operative childcare centre operates under the guidelines and regulations of the City of Toronto's Operating Criteria, the Provincial Child Care Early Years Act, Toronto Public Health, and the Ministry of Education.
Our facilities in the new location include sunny preschool room and toddler room, fully equipped kitchen, fenced-in backyard, and two child sized bathrooms.
Times & Rates
During COVID-19, Lakeside has slightly shorter hours to accommodate extra cleaning. We are currently open 8:00 am - 5:30 pm from Monday to Friday.
We currently offer full day, full time slots in our Toddler and Preschool Programs.
Toddler Program:
Full time- $1600/mo
Preschool Program:
Full time- $1350/mo
